The VI Meeting of the Jean Monnet Network “BRIDGE” will take place in Milan on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October 2023, concluding the Project “Building Rights and Developing Knowledge between European Union and Latin-America - BRIDGE”, developed within the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission (620744-EPP-1-2020-1-BR-EPPJMO-NETWORK) and aimed to promote studies and research on European integration in Latin America in order to build bridges of dialogue and exchange of good practices between the regions.
The theme of the meeting will be Regional Data Protection Policy and Artificial Intelligence.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

 1.             PUBLIC CALL 

 

1.1 The Project Jean Monnet Network “Building RIghts and Developing KnowledGE between the European Union and Latin-America – BRIDGE Project”, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, and the Latin American Center of European Studies (LACES) invite the academic community to submit scientific papers to the Workshop of the VI Jean Monnet Network Seminar – BRIDGE “Regional Data Protection Policy and Artificial Intelligence”, that will occur in hybrid format on 3rd Octubre 2023, at 15:00, Italy Time (GMT+2), held by Univerità degli Studi di Milano, Italy.

 

1.2 Authors must submit papers by 12th September 2023, at 23h59min, Italy Time (GMT+2) to the email network@eurolatinstudies.com.

 

1.3 The topic of the papers is restricted to the subject “Regional Data Protection Policy and Artificial Intelligence”.

 

1.4 Papers written in English, Spanish or Portuguese will be accepted, written individually or in co-authorship (maximum of three authors) by professors and researchers with an academic degree. Papers written by graduate students regularly enrolled in higher education institutions will also be accepted.

 

1.5 Papers must have between 15-20 pages, including Bibliographic References, and must follow the Guidelines for Authors.

 

1.6 When choosing the theme for your paper and during your research, it is recommended that you review the previous editions of the Latin American Journal of European Studies, the news of the Observatory on European Studies and the past Collections of the Project Workshops, in order to understand which themes have already been addressed in articles previously published and which of them can enter into a dialogue with your contribution.

 

1.7 Submissions must be sent by e-mail with the following file extensions: .doc or .docx. The message body must have the following information: a) Name of the author(s); b) Biography of the author(s) – up to 50 words per author, c) E-mail of the author(s); d) ORCID number; e) Title of the paper.

 

1.8 The Organizing Committee will communicate the articles selected for presentation by email until 25th September 2023.

 

1.9 The best papers will be accepted, of which: 

  • All authors of the selected papers must present their work in the Workshop (in person at the Università degli Studi di Milano or virtually).
  • At the discretion of the Organizing Committee, articles may be selected for publication in the Thematic Dossier of the 6th Edition of the Latin American Journal of European Studies (ISSN 2763-8685) or in the Collection of the Workshop that will be published by the publishing company linked to the BRIDGE Project.
  • The two (2) best articles will receive an award equivalent to EUR 250 each.

 

1.10 The authors will have a maximum of 10 (ten) minutes to present their article at the Workshop.

 

1.11 Workshop presentations must be conducted in the same language as the paper that has been submitted or in Italian.

 

1.12 The full schedule of the Workshop will be available on the website www.eurolatinstudies.com.br.

 

1.13 Text format: All papers must comply with the rules of the Guidelines for Authors. Papers that are not in accordance with the guidelines will not be accepted.

 

1.14 Copyright assignment: the author assigns to the BRIDGE Project for an indefinite period all copyrights of publication and reproduction relating to the work submitted, being aware that the assignment is made irrevocably and irreversibly, free of charge in favor of the BRIDGE Project, not being able to demand any copyright of patrimonial nature. The author also authorizes that the work can be accessed free of charge by any interested party and be reproduced and/or published as long as the appropriate reference is made for the purpose of disseminating the scientific academic production, in accordance with the Creative Commons Licence Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY modality).
